About me

I love stories. But I am no writer. So I let images speak.

And who doesn't like love stories with a perfect ending? Where better to capture love, celebrations, deliciously decadent eats, generous grins, chromes and raw emotions than at the ever-so-chaotic yet joyous and vibrant weddings?!

My photographer dad gave me my first SLR at age 9 and I was a trigger happy child. I fell in love with the light, the dark and the seamless interplay between the two. A large chunk of my adolescent years was spent in darkrooms developing pictures of my stately old neighbor in his rocking chair, the monsoons visiting the porch of my ancestral Kerala home, my grandmother's wrinkly but wise hands, and capturing colors in their myriad moody shades,

Then I grew up. Things stopped 'developing' when I moved to a corporate job. I did learn the essential skills of survival and had a steady paycheck. But I was yearning, longing for something I couldn't yet name. I quit my corporate job of 4 years without an inkling of what to do next until my friend gifted me a digital SLR. It all came rushing back, the seductive click of a shutter, the singularity of manual focus, the hypnotic blur of macro lenses.

Ten years and more than a hundred beautiful weddings later, here I am, only left wanting more.  The challenge of capturing the 'happily ever after' of two people in love has got me hooked. And of course the mouth watering food and the amazing  friends I get to make are added perks. *wink*

This is me, Anu Jacob, as candid as I get.
